What is IOAI?

The International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) is a renowned yearly contest aimed at high school students with a keen interest in the dynamic field of artificial intelligence. We are dedicated to motivating and engaging young intellects to delve into the boundless potential of AI, nurturing a new wave of innovators and problem-solvers in AI.

Format of the Olympiad

The International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence is comprised of two contests: a scientific contest and a practical contest. In these contests, the focus isn’t necessarily on finding “the right answer,” as it might not exist. Rather, the competitions are geared towards drawing conclusions, requiring contestants to create and conduct experiments to deduce the strengths and weaknesses of AI.

Every country can be represented in the olympiad by a national team: four contestants and a team leader.

Teams must be selected by country coordinators based on the results in national competitions In AI, or in Mathematics, Informatics, Linguistics, or a related subject if a national AI contest is not available.

The contestants must be less than 20 years old on the first day of the competition and should be high school students living in the country that they are representing.

Accreditation

If your country has not participated in the IOAI before, you need to apply for accreditation of your organization to represent it at the olympiad.
